Q: Can we image plates without an internet connection?
A: No - due to the huge amount of images generated during data acquisition, an internet connection is required at all times to off-load images to an online database. This is managed by Reshape and easily accessed through the user interface.
Q: What's the throughput of the system?
A: The system is modular, meaning that you're able to control an unlimited number of imaging units from the user interface. Multiple people can run jobs on a large number of imaging units in parallel. This allows you to easily run assays with anywhere from 1 to 100's of plates at the same time.
For a single imaging device, you can load from 15 petri dishes, to 15 SBS 384 wells.
Q: Can we control the lighting (e.g., create a proper day-night-cycle)
A. You cannot currently control lighting from within the device. However, our hardware offers 3 different light sources (see here), and you can later adjust lighting to better see images in the platform on a job level.
Q: Can we zoom in when using the device?
A. When validating your assays in the discovery platform, you can zoom in to check we haven't missed the smaller colonies.
Zooming in is not a current feature of the hardware. This is by design to keep all experiments under the same conditions, including image quality.
Q: How can I add new users to the platform?
A. If you are an Admin, you can add users by navigating to the settings section of the platform, and clicking the bottom on the top right corner that says "Add member".
Note: only admins can invite new users for security purposes.
