Step by step: configuring a batch
1. Name your batch
Start by naming the batch of samples you are going to process.
2. Generate or enter sample ids
If you want Reshape to generate sample IDs for these samples, simply hit "Generate". If you already have sample IDs defined, you can copy those, click "Enter sample IDs" and paste them in the system dialog.
3. Add assay(s)
This is where you select which analysis you want to perform on your plates, for instance "Total viable count" or "Salmonella detection".
4. Add dilutions
If you're going to dilute your sample, this is where you can define the necessary dilutions.
5. Define replicates
Choose how many replicates you want to run.
6. [Optional] Add additional properties
If there are other information that is important to have stored with your plates or custom properties that define a plate, this is the place to add those. Examples could be "Customer name" or "Incubation temperature".
7. Submit
Once you have all the information filled out, you'll see a preview of how many plates will be generated. If that looks correct to you, you can hit the "Submit" button.
You have now successfully generated your samples and plates. You can choose to just download the CSV, or continue setting up and printing barcode labels.
Step by step: printing labels
1. Choose your format
At minimum, your barcode includes a label code generated by Reshape. This is to ensure that every plate label is unique. You can choose to include any of the other properties in the barcode.
2. Decide what's printed on the label as text
Under "Additional information", you can specify which fields you want printed on the label as text. This can often come in handy during the plate preparation phase.
3. Print labels
If your printer is set up and connected, you can simply hit the "Print labels" button, select the printer and print the labels.
